This assignment was undertaken in pairs, in which we had to put into practice the theory we had learnt about photography as well as the technical skills we had learnt using QuickTime VR and Director.

Working with Duncan Stevenson, we were asked to complete a series of tasks and combine them into a Director executable file. The first task required as to take a series of portrait photos in both colour and monochrome using theory we had learnt about photograph. The second task required as to create a QuickTime VR 360 photo of a location inspired by a painting by our favorite artist. The final task was to create a surreal image using our photoshop skills, juxtaposing images together.

Using a SLR camera on manual mode we took a series of portrait photos of a friend of ours. Using photography and lighting theory we aimed to capture the most visually pleasing photos.

We based our QuickTimeVR around the work on Jacob Pissaro and his impressionist paintings of Hyde Park, London. Using a specialised 360 degree tripod attachment we made our QuickTimeVR on the banks of the Serpentine, Hyde Park.

Our surrealist image played on the idea of juxtaposition and subverted scale. Using photoshop the images people the people were made to suit the image by changing the colours and bluring them immitating the original depth of field.
